Since the inception of Fields Financial Planning we have looked to work with a company who hold the same values as us, while trying to help former Military Veterans and grow our green credentials.
As you will know the logo of Fields is a large Oak tree, and this was based on the tree which sat prominently at our home, at Fields Farm. During the storm season of 2021, we sadly lost the tree to storm Arwen.
We therefore looked for a company to combine the military values and help replant trees, and we are delighted to be working with Carma earth, who work with Military Veterans to plant trees in the UK. This is a cause that we are excited to support due to my own previous role in the forces, and being able to provide work for Veterans and help the environment is important to us both socially and environmentally. Next month we will be able to show you more of an insight into the trees we have funded and their impact.
A bit more about Carma:
With a desire to make a tangible difference in the world, Iain Gurney, moved by the alarming rate of climate change and the prevalence of greenwashing, decided to leverage his technical expertise to address this global issue. As a family man, the urgency to leave the world better than he found it resonated deeply with him.
Alongside him is Jim Holland, a veteran with a profound care for both people and the planet. Jim’s realisation that he could significantly contribute to the pathway of veterans’ resettlement through Carma was the beginning of his journey.
Together, their combined passions and beliefs brought Carma to life – a company rooted in the principles of genuine environmental change and human well-being, dedicated to creating a sustainable future for all.
Why we’re investing in Nature-based solutions
We are pushing Earth dangerously close to tipping points. Today, millions of people are already exposed to the effects of biodiversity loss and climate change. We need to act urgently today to avoid the most dangerous impacts of climate change. This is why we are working with Carma to restore the environment in countries around the world. We believe we have our part to play in the net zero transition, while supporting local communities, addressing economic inequality and regenerating nature.
Supporting positive pathways to employment for veterans and service leavers
We want to plant trees to fight climate change and create social and environmental impact, and by partnering with Carma, it’s our veterans that make our mission come to life! Carma partner with The Green Taskforce to employ veterans and service leavers, who plant trees in the UK.
